Additional Insured
An additional insured endorsement adds another party — typically the business hiring a vendor — to the vendor's insurance policy. If a claim arises from the vendor's work, the hiring business can be defended and covered under the vendor's policy.
This is one of the most important things to verify on a COI. A certificate can show plenty of coverage yet still leave you exposed if you aren't listed as an additional insured. Checking that box is easy to overlook manually — and expensive to miss.
