Endorsement

An endorsement modifies the base policy — adding an additional insured, granting a waiver of subrogation, or changing limits. The endorsements attached to a policy are often what actually determine whether you're protected.

Because COIs summarize but don't always fully detail endorsements, verifying that required endorsements are actually in force is a key part of real compliance.
